Abstract:Multiple myeloma (MM) is a kind of non-curative malignancy in the middle-aged and elderly patients. It is shown that the incidence of the disease is increasing year by year due to the aging of the population. Although 5-to 10-year survival rate of MM patients received the combination of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgical treatment and other comprehensive treatment has been greatly improved, but due to the slow onset and early atypical clinical symptoms, the teratogenic rate and death rate of patients with MM is still high. Therefore, it is particularly important for the early diagnosis and prognosis of MM. Recent evidence suggests that the disease has been considered a multifactor and polygenic disorder, and the polymorphism of its gene loci is likely to be a susceptible factor in the pathogenesis of MM. Further understanding of the relationship between the pathogenesis of MM and related gene polymorphisms is very important. Therefore, the recent research progress on MM susceptibility gene polymorphisms in recent years is summarized and reviewed.
