Progress of uterine endometrial stromal sarcoma

Abstract：Endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS) is a kind of malignancy of uterus.According to the grade of the malignancy and its biological behavior,the tumors are divided into low grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (LGESS) and high grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (HGESS).In early stage,pathological diagnosis biopsy can be actualized,supplemented with imaging examination and immunohistochemistry.So far,there is a lack of standardized treatment for ESS in clinic,and the combined therapy of surgery and postoperative adjuvant therapy is mostly used.Endocrine therapy is one of the important treatment methods,especially in the LGESS which highly expressed estrogen and progesterone receptor.Targeted therapy,being a new treatment,needs further study and discussion.This article reviews the latest development of ESS in recent years,hoping to provide help for clinical treatment.
