Status and thinking of maintenance therapy in patients with pancreatic cancer

Abstract：The prognosis of advanced pancreatic cancer is extremely poor. According to clinical trials concerned with first?line systemic therapy, the median progression?free survival ( PFS) was 5 months and median overall survival ( OS) was less than one year. To those patients benefited from first?line regimen and with good performance status, can we switch the therapeutic modality into a sin?gle cytotoxic or target agent. It is so called “maintenance therapy”?As concerned to pancreatic cancer patients received radical resec?tion, five?year survival rate was less than 25% even adjuvant therapy completed. May maintenance therapy continue with adjuvant set?ting aimed to prolong disease?free survival?We combed these burning problems to be solved practically in order to provide clinical ref?erence.
