Abstract:Gamma delta(γδ) T cells are minor subset of T lymphocytes( 2%-5% of peripheral blood T lymphocytes) that ex-press Vγ9Vδ2 T cell receptors, mainly distributed in the mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue, are non-restricted cells of major histocom-patibility complex( MHC) , can kill various tumor cells. Many data demonstrate thatγδT cells are involved in the first line of immune defense system. In the future, adoptive γδ T cells-based cell immunotherapy will become a new strategy for cancer immunotherapy. In this review, we provide an overview of its anti-tumor mechanism and clinical application.
