Abstract:Chronic wounds refer to those that often fail to progress through the normal healing stages despite conventional treatment, and may be defined as chronic infected wounds if they are complicated by infection. There are various types of chronic wounds in clinical practice,as they can be infected by various pathogenic microorganisms, leading to complex healing pathways.Additionally,it has been observed in clinical settings that various chronic wounds contain senescent cells, which can impede healing and increase the risk of infection.Platelet-rich plasma has emerged as a novel treatment method for chronic wounds in clinical settings, and studies have found that platelet-rich plasma can promote the healing of chronic wounds by regulating the Notch signaling pathway.Based on the current research status of platelet-rich plasma in treating various wounds at home and abroad in recent years, this paper reviews its main physiological processes and the connections with the Notch signaling pathway, providing a reference for the study of the mechanism by which platelet-rich plasma promotes wound healing.
