Abstract:Coronary heart disease(CHD)is a common cardiovascular disorder in clinical practice, with relatively high morbidity and mortality among the elderly population.Angina pectoris is a common symptom of CHD,severely affecting the quality of life and physical and mental health of patients. The clinical efficacy of Western medicine alone has certain limitations, while the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine therapy has significant advantages in the management of elderly patients with angina pectoris in CHD.Professor Zhang Limei believes that the overall pathogenesis of angina pectoris in CHD in elderly patients is a mixture of deficiency and excess, with deficiency as the foundation and excess as the manifestation.Elderly patients have weakness and imbalances in the five Zang organs, with phlegm turbidity and blood stasis as the manifestation, and based on the theory of phlegm turbidity and blood stasis,Professor Zhang Limei treats elderly patients with angina pectoris in CHD,using various methods such as promoting blood circulation and resolving blood stasis, unblocking the meridians and relieving pain, dissolving phlegm and dispersing nodules, soothing the chest and regulating qi,reinforcing the healthy qi and eliminating pathogenic factors, and treating both the root and branch, showing excellent clinical efficacy. This article summarizes Professor Zhang Limei's clinical experience in the treatment of angina pectoris in CHD in elderly patients based on the theory of phlegm turbidity and blood stasis.
