Value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound parameters combined with systemic immune inflammation index in predicting disease activity of ulcerative colitis

Abstract：Objective To investigate the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)parameters combined with systemic immune-inflammation index(SII)in predicting the disease activity of ulcerative colitis(UC).Methods A total of 96 patients with UC admitted from June 2020 to June 2024 were selected.The general data were statistically analyzed and CEUS parameters[time to peak(TTP),arrival time(AT),ascending slope(AS),peak intensity(PI)]and SII were detected.The CEUS parameters and SII of patients with different disease activity were compared.The correlation between CEUS parameters and SII and disease activity was analyzed.The value of CEUS parameters and SII in predicting active UC and severe active UC was analyzed.Results TTP,AT,AS,PI and SII of UC patients were(30.74±2.88)s,(18.39±3.07)s,(1.74±0.49)dB/s,(27.87±3.18)dB and 614.73±115.29,respectively.TTP and AT in active UC patients were lower than those in patients in remission,and AS,PI and SII were higher than those in patients in remission(P＜0.01).TTP and AT in severe patients with active UC were lower than those in patients with moderate and mild UC,which were lower in moderate patients than in mild patients(P＜0.05).AS,PI and SII in severe patients were higher than those in moderate and mild patients,which were lower in moderate patients than in mild patients(P＜0.05).In patients with active UC,TTP and AT were negatively correlated with SII and disease activity,AS and PI were positively correlated with SII and disease activity,and SII was positively correlated with disease activity(P＜0.05).The area under the curve(AUC)of TTP,AT,AS,PI and SII in combination for prediction of active UC was 0.905,which was greater than that predicted by each index alone(P＜0.05).The AUC of TTP,AT,AS,PI and SII in combination for prediction of severe active UC was 0.913,which was greater than that predicted by each index alone(P＜0.05).Conclusion CEUS parameters TTP,AT,AS,and PI are correlated with SII and disease activity in UC patients,and the combination of TTP,AT,AS,PI and SII has a high predictive efficiency in predicting disease activity in UC patients.
