Clinical effect of modified Yangxiao Zhentui formula combined with conventional topical therapy in the treatment of facial corticosteroid addiction dermatitis with Yin deficiency and internal heat syndrome

Abstract：Objective To study the clinical effect of modified Yangxiao Zhentui formula combined with conventional topical therapy on the treatment of facial corticosteroid addiction dermatitis(FCAD)with Yin deficiency and internal heat syndrome.Methods A total of 100 FCAD patients with Yin deficiency and internal heat syndrome admitted from January 2019 to January 2023 were selected and divided into the combination treatment group(n=50)and the topical treatment group(n=50)according to the 1∶1 matching principle of the random number table method.Among them,the topical treatment group was treated with conventional topical therapy,and the combination treatment group was treated with Yangxiao Zhentui formula on the basis of the topical treatment group;both groups were treated for 8 weeks.The curative effects,adverse reactions,subjective symptom scores,objective symptom scores and lesion area scores,facial skin barrier function[epidermal oil content,epidermal water content,stratum corneum thickness,transepidermal water loss(TEWL)]before and after treatment,and Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI)scores were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the combination treatment group was 92.00％(46/50),which was higher than that of the topical treatment group(76.00％,38/50)(P＜0.05).At 2,4 and 8 weeks after treatment,the subjective symptoms,objective symptoms,lesion area score and TEWL of the combination treatment group were all lower than those of the topical treatment group,while the epidermal oil content and epidermal water content were higher than those of the topical treatment group(P＜0.05).At 4 and 8 weeks after treatment,the stratum corneum thickness in the combination treatment group was higher than that in the topical treatment group(P＜0.05).At 8 weeks after treatment,the DLQI score of the combination treatment group was lower than that of the topical treatment group(P＜0.05).During the treatment period,only 3 cases of diarrhea occurred in the combination treatment group,which were relieved after treatment.There were no other obvious adverse reactions in either group.Conclusion Modified Yangxiao Zhentui formula combined with conventional topical therapy has a remarkable effect in the treatment of FC AD with Yin deficiency and internal heat syndrome.It can promote the relief of skin lesions and subjective and objective symptoms,improve the facial skin barrier function,enhance the patients' quality of life,and has certain safety.
