Effect of acupoint moxibustion combined with psychological intervention on emotional disorder of kidney deficiency and liver depression syndrome in patients with end-stage renal disease undergoing high-flux hemodialysis

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of acupoint moxibustion combined with psychological intervention on emotional disorders in patients with end-stage renal disease undergoing high-flux hemodialysis(HFHD).Methods A total of 82 patients receiving HFHD with emotional disorders admitted from January 2021 to January 2024 were selected and randomly divided into the control group(n=41)and the observation group(n=41).Both groups were given conventional intervention,the control group was given psychological intervention,and the observation group was combined with acupoint moxibustion.Alexithymia[Toronto Alexithymia Scale(TAS-20)],sleep quality[Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)],psychological state[Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)],fatigue degree[Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14)],quality of life[The MOS 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36)]and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after intervention.Results At 6 and 12 weeks after intervention,the scores of externally oriented thinking,difficulty identifying feelings,and difficulty describing feelings dimensions of TAS-20,as well as HAMA,HAMD,PSQI and FS-14 scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).At 6 and 12 weeks after intervention,the SF-36 score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups[4.88%(2/41)vs.0](P>0.05).Conclusion Acupoint moxibustion combined with psychological intervention can effectively ameliorate the emotional disorders of patients with end-stage renal disease undergoing HFHD,alleviate their fatigue,improve their sleep quality,and enhance their quality of life,with high safety.
