Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical manifestations, causes of misdiagnosis and preventive measures of shock pneumonia. Methods The clinical data of 2 patients with shock pneumonia who were initially misdiagnosed as pulmonary infection from February to March 2025 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Two patients presented with fever, cough and wheezing on admission. All patients were initially diagnosed with pulmonary infection on admission according to clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging examinations. After the corresponding interventions, the symptoms were not significantly relieved, and the patient was diagnosed with shock pneumonia after the relevant examinations, sputum culture and blood culture were completed. The misdiagnosis lasted 1-3 d.All patients were discharged within 2 weeks after shock correction and anti-infection treatment. Two patients still had cough and expectoration during the follow-up,and neither of them was rehospitalized. Conclusion Shock pneumonia can be misdiagnosed due to atypical and complex early symptoms.Detailed clinical inquiry and timely targeted examination can help improve the vigilance of shock pneumonia,so as to reduce or avoid misdiagnosis.
