Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between the levels of serum interleukin(IL)-22,IL-17A,IL-23 and their mRNA and the degree of adhesion in patients with intrauterine adhesions(IUA),as well as their predictive value for postoperative recurrence. Methods A total of 120 patients with IUA admitted from January 2021 to May 2023 were selected as the observation group, and all underwent hysteroscopic intrauterine adhesion separation.Sixty healthy women who underwent physical examinations during the same period were selected as the control group according to the 2∶1 matching principle. The levels of serum IL-22,IL-17A,IL-23 and mRNA in the two groups and IUA patients with different degrees of adhesion were compared. The patients were followed up for one year after the operation. The levels of serum IL-22,IL-17A,IL-23 and mRNA in patients with recurrent and non-recurrent IUA after the operation were compared.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlations of the levels of serum IL-22,IL-17A,IL-23 and mRNA in IUA patients with the degree of IUA and postoperative recurrence. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to evaluate the predictive value of serum IL-22,IL-17A,IL-23 and mRNA levels for postoperative recurrence in patients with IUA.Results The levels of serum IL-22,IL-17A,IL-23 and mRNA in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group(P<0.01).The levels of serum IL-22,IL-17A,IL-23 and mRNA were the lowest in patients with mild adhesions, followed by those with moderate adhesions and those with severe adhesions(P<0.05).The levels of serum IL-22,IL-17A,IL-23 and mRNA in patients with postoperative recurrence were higher than those in patients without postoperative recurrence(P<0.01).Spearman correlation analysis showed that serum IL-22,IL-17A,and IL-23 were positively correlated with the degree of IUA and negatively correlated with postoperative recurrence(P<0.05).Serum IL-22,IL-17A and IL-23 mRNA were positively correlated with the degree of IUA and negatively correlated with postoperative recurrence(P<0.05).The area under the curve for predicting recurrence of IUA by the combined detection of serum IL-22,IL-17A,and IL-23 and the combined detection of IL-22,IL-17A,and IL-23 mRNA was significantly higher than that predicted by each index alone(P<0.05).Conclusion The serum and mRNA levels of serum IL-22,IL-17A and IL-23 in patients with IUA are elevated, which are closely related to the degree of IUA and postoperative recurrence of the patients. The combined detection of serum IL-22,IL-17A,IL-23 and mRNA is helpful to improve the predictive value of recurrence after IUA.
