Clinical Characteristics of Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory in Adolescents with Depressive Disorder and Non-suicidal Self-injury

Abstract：Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of Minnesota Multiphasic Personality inventory(MMPI)in adolescents with depressive disorder and non-suicidal self-injury.Methods A total of 104 adolescents with depressive disorder and non-suicidal self-injury admitted from June 2020 to June 2023 were selected as the survey subjects.MMPI was used to evaluate their mental health,and the results were compared with the national norm.In the meantime,the differences in MMPI scores of depressive disorder adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury with different gender,age and education level were analyzed.Results In this study,14.42%(15/104)of the patients had MMPI score>60.The scores of hypochondriasis(Hs),depression(D),hysteria(Hy),psychopathic deviation(Pd),gender orientation[using Masculini-ty-femininitys scale(Mf)],paranoia(Pa),psychasthenia(Pt),schizophrenia(Sc),hypomania(Ma),social introversion(Si)and Malingering(F)scale in adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury were higher than those in the national norm(P<0.05).The scores of Hs,D,Hy,Mf,Pt,and Si in male patients were lower than those in female patients,while the scores of Pd and Ma in male patients were higher than those in female patients(P<0.05).The patients aged<15 years had a significantly low-er corrected scale score and significantly higher F,Hs,D,Pd,Mf,Pa,Pt,Sc,Ma,and Si scores than those aged≥15 years(P<0.05).The scores of lie scale,F,Hs,D,Pd,Mf,Pa,Pt,Sc and Si of patients with junior high school education or below were higher than those of senior high school education(P<0.05).Conclusion The psychological problems of adolescents with depressive disorder and non-suicidal self-injury were more obvious than those in the national norm,and the MMPI scores were related to gender,age and education level.
