Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Xuexiankang granules combined with recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(rhGM-CSF)in the treatment of agranulocytosis with syndrome of Yang deficiency of spleen and kidney caused by antithyroid drugs(ATD)and its impact on clinical symptoms and inflammatory response. Methods In total,129 patients with agranulocytosis caused by ATD from January 2022 to January 2024 were selected and divided into the observation group, control group 1,and control group 2,with 43 patients in each group, according to the random number table method. All three groups received basic treatment.Control group 1 was treated with rhGM-CSF,control group 2 was treated with Xuexiankang granules, and the observation group was treated with Xuexiankang granules combined with rhGM-CSF.At 7 d after treatment, the therapeutic effects and recovery times of clinical symptoms and signs were compared among the three groups. The levels of granulocyte count, white blood cell(WBC)count, inflammatory factors[C-reactive protein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT),interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor ne-crosis factor-α(TNF-α)]were compared before and at 7 d after treatment. The occurrence of adverse reactions in the three groups was recorded. Results At 7 d after treatment, the total effective rate in the observation group[95.35%(41/43)]was higher than that in the control group 1[72.09%(31/43)]and control group 2[74.42%(32/43)].The time for body temperature to return to normal, time to granulocyte recovery, duration of anti-infection,and length of hospitalization were shorter than those in the control group 1 and con-trol group 2(P<0.05).At 7 d after treatment, the granulocyte count and WBC count in the observation group were higher than those in the control group 1 and control group 2,while the levels of serum CRP,PCT,IL-6,and TNF-α were lower than those in the control group 1 and control group 2(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions among the three groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of Xuexiankang granules and rhGM-CSF has demonstrated a definite effect in the treatment of patients with ATD-induced agranulocytosis with syndrome of Yang deficiency of spleen and kidney, and it also exhibits a certain level of safety.
