Abstract:Objective To explore the effect and complications of CEREC lithium disilicate glass ceramic high inlays and Ceramage polymer ceramic high inlays in the treatment of large-area defects of posterior teeth after posterior root canal therapy. Methods Patients with large-area defects of posterior teeth after posterior root canal therapy who were ad-mitted from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected.According to different treatment regimens, the patients were divided into the CEREC group and the Ceramage group.Baseline data were excluded by propensity matching.Eventually,40 patients were included in each of the two groups(55 in the CEREC group and 58 in the Ceramage group). The CEREC group was giv-en CEREC lithium disilicate glass ceramic high inlays, while the Ceramage group was given Ceramage polymer ceramic high inlays. The restoration effects, restoration success rates, gingival conditions, complications and restoration satisfaction rates of the two groups were compared. Results At 1 year after restoration, the proportion of patients with grade A restoration color in the CEREC group was significantly higher than that in the Ceramage group(P<0.05).After 6 months and 1 year after restoration, there was no significant difference in the scores of plaque index(PLI)and gingival index(GI)between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the CEREC group and the Ceramage group[9.09%(5/55)vs.15.52%(9/58)](P>0.05).The restoration satisfaction rate in the CEREC group[92.50%(37/40)]was higher than that in the Ceramage group[75.00%(30/40)],and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Both CEREC glass-ceramic high inlays and Ceramage polymeric ceramic high inlays have good restoration effects on patients with large-area defects of posterior teeth after posterior root canal therapy, and the satisfaction of CEREC glass-ceramic high inlays is higher.
