Observation on the Therapeutic Effect of Huatan Tongluo Formula Combined with Acupuncture in the Treatment of Ischemic Stroke of Wind-Phlegm Blocking Collaterals Syndrome

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of the Huatan Tongluo formula combined with acupuncture in the treatment of patients with ischemic stroke of wind-phlegm blocking collaterials syndrome.Methods A total of 110 patients with ischemic stroke of wind-phlegm blocking collaterials syndrome admitted to our hospital from October 2022 to October 2024 were selected and divided into an observation group(n=55)and a control group(n=55)by the random number table method.During the treatment process,2 patients dropped out in the observation group and 1 patient dropped out in the control group.Fifty-four patients in the control group were treated with conventional Western medicine,while 53 patients in the observation group were treated with Huatan Tongluo formula combined with acupuncture on the basis of the control group,and both groups were treated for a total of 2 weeks.The clinical effect,adverse reactions during the treatment,as well as the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)score,the Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)score,the Barthel Index(BI),the total score of TCM syndrome,and the levels of D-dimer(D-D),fibrinogen(FIB),prothrombin time(PT),and superoxide dismutase(SOD)before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group after treatment was 96.23%(51/53),which was higher than 85.19%(46/54)of the control group(P<0.05).At 2 weeks after treatment,the NIHSS score and the total score of TCM syndromes in both groups decreased,while the MMSE score and BI increased;the improvement of the observation group was greater than that of the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01).At 2 weeks after treatment,the levels of D-D and FIB in both groups decreased,and PT was prolonged;the improvement of the observation group was greater than that of the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01).At 2 weeks after treatment,the SOD levels in both groups increased,which were higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions during the treatment between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of Huatan Tongluo formula and acupuncture treatment can improve the therapeutic effect of patients with ischemic stroke of wind-phlegm blocking collaterials syndrome,improve the neurological function,cognitive function and coagulation function of patients,enhance the ability of daily living,and has good safety.
