Observation on the Effect of Shuxin Tiaogeng Decoction in the Treatment of Perimenopausal Coronary Heart Disease Complicated with Anxiety/De-pression

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of Shuxin Tiaogeng decoction in the treatment of perimenopausal coronary heart disease(CHD)complicated with anxiety/depression.Methods Fifty perimenopausal patients with CHD and anxiety/depression from June 2023 to December 2023 were selected and divided into western medicine group and Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)group based on random number table method,with 25 patients in each group.The patients in the TCM group were treated with Shuxin Tiaogeng decoction combined with conventional western medicine,and the patients in western medicine group were treated with conventional western medicine.Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.The clinical efficacy,the changes of anxiety and depression,serum hormone indexes and neurotransmitter before and after treatment,and the adverse reactions during treatment were observed and compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the TCM group was 92.00%(23/25),which was significantly higher than 76.00%(19/25)of the western medicine group,and the difference was significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of self-rating depression scale(SDS)and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)in the two groups were significantly decreased,and the decreases in the TCM group were grea-ter than those in the western medicine group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).After treatment,the levels of serum estradiol(E2)in the two groups were significantly increased,and the levels of serum follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)and luteinizing hor-mone(LH)were significantly decreased.The increase of serum E2 level in the TCM group was greater than that in the western medicine group,and the decrease of serum FSH and LH was greater than that in the western medicine group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).After treatment,the levels of serum neuropeptide Y(NPY)and 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)in the two groups were significantly increased,while the level of serum myeloperoxidase(MPO)was significantly decreased,and the increase of ser-um NPY and 5-HT levels in the TCM group was greater than that in the western medicine group,and the decrease of serum MPO level was greater than that in the western medicine group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).The incidence of adverse reactions in the TCM group was lower than that in the western medicine group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Shuxin Tiaogeng decoction is ef-fective in the treatment of perimenopausal CHD patients with anxiety/depression,which can improve the clinical symptoms of patients,regulate the levels of sex hormones and neurotransmitters,and reduce the degree of anxiety and depression while treating CHD.
