Efficacy Evaluation of Levothyroxine Sodium Combined with Prunella Cap-sule in the Treatment of Hashimoto Thyroiditis

Abstract：Objective To study the effect of Levothyroxine Sodium combined with Prunella capsule on Hashimoto thyroiditis(HT).Methods A total of 60 HT patients admitted from January 2021 to December 2022 were divided into the observation group and the control group by random number table method,with 30 patients in each group.The control group was treated with Levothyroxine Sodium monotherapy,and the observation group was treated with Levothyroxine Sodium com-bined with Prunelle capsule for 3 months.After 3 months of treatment,the efficacy and adverse reactions of the two groups were evaluated.Thyroid function indexes[free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4),thyrotropin(TSH)],tradi-tional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,bilateral thyroid size,inflammatory factors[interferon-γ(IFN-γ),inter-leukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-12(IL-12),interleukin-10(IL-10)]levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was93.33%(28/30),which was higher than that of control group[66.67%(20/30)],showing significant difference(P＜0.05).After treatment,TSH decreased,while FT3 and FT4 increased in both groups;the decrease in TSH and the increase in FT3 and FT4 in the observation group were greater than those in the control group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores of both groups were decreased,and the reduction in the observation group was significantly greater than that in the control group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).After treatment,both sides of the thyroid decreased in anteroposterior,upper and lower diameters,and left and right diameters,and the reduction in the observation group was greater than that in the control group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).After treatment,IFN-γ,IL-6 and IL-12 decreased,while IL-10 increased in the two groups;the decrease in IFN-γ,IL-6 and IL-12 and the increase in IL-10 in the observation group were significantly greater than those in the control group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Levothyroxine Sodium combined with Prunella capsule in the treatment of HT can produce a significant effect,which can effectively reduce the symptoms of patients,alleviate the thyroid enlargement of patients,and promote the recovery of thyroid function,with good treatment safety.
