Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Xiangbikang formula and modified traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)hot compress based on syndrome differentiation combined with Maitland manipulation in the treatment of cervical spon-dylotic radiculopathy(CSR).Methods A total of 100 patients with CSR treated from April 2023 to March 2024 were select-ed as the research subjects,ad divided into control group(n=50,treated with Maitland manipulation)and research group(n=50,combined with Xiangbikang formula combined with modified TCM hot compress based on syndrome differentiation)according to envelope randomization method. The curative effects and adverse reactions of the two groups were observed and compared,as well as TCM syndrome scores, visual analogue scale(VAS)pain score and Northwick Park neck pain question-naire(NPQ)scores before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the research group was 94.00%(47/50),which was higher than that of the control group[80.00%(40/50)](P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of TCM syndrome,VAS pain score and NPQ score in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and lower in the research group than in the control group(P<0.05).There was no difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Xiangbikang formula and modified TCM hot compress based on syndrome differentiation combined with Maitland manipulation for CSR treatment can improve clinical effect, significantly reduce symptoms and pain of patients, and significantly improve their living ability.
