Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of intermittent administration of Isotretinoin combined with su-pramolecular salicylic acid peeling treatment for rosacea. Methods A total of 94 patients with rosacea treated from May 2021 to May 2022 were selected. The patients were divided into control group(n=47)and observation group(n=47)by random number table method. Both groups underwent supramolecular salicylic acid peeling treatment. On this basis, the control group was given conventional therapy with Isotretinoin, while the observation group was given intermittent therapy with Isotretinoin. The therapeutic effects, the skin barrier function indicators[epidermal water content, number of erythema, transepidermal wa-ter loss(TEWL),oil content],inflammatory factors[tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),high-sensitivity C reactive protein(hs-CRP)],facial appearance score, quality of life before and after treatment and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. At 1-year follow-up after treatment, recurrence rate in the two groups was recor-ded.Results There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the observation group[93.62%(44/47)]and the control group[97.87%(46/47)](P>0.05).After treatment, the number of erythema,TEWL,and oil con-tent in both groups were reduced compared with those before treatment, while the epidermal water content was increased;the levels of serum TNF-α,IL-6,and hs-CRP were decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of the numerical rating scale(NRS)in both groups were higher than those before treatment, while the scores of the dermatology life quality index(DLQI)were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in NRS and DLQI scores between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions during the treatment period in the observation group[6.38%(3/47)]was lower than that in the control group[21.28%(10/47)],showing significant difference(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the recurrence rate between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Both conventional therapy and intermittent therapy with Isotretinoin combined with supramolecular salicylic acid peeling treatment can achieve good short-and long-term efficacy in the treatment of patients with rosacea, among which the intermittent therapy using Isotretinoin has better safety.
