Abstract:Objective To investigate the application of external breech conversion in women with full-term breech pregnancy and to analyze the factors influencing the success of external breech conversion. Methods In total,162 pregnant women with full-term and single breech pregnancy admitted from January 2020 to January 2023 were divided into two groups according to the intervention conditions:research group(n=69)and control group(n=93).Delivery mode, success rate of breech correction and complications during treatment were statistically compared between the two groups. The factors influen-cing the success of external breech conversion in full-term breech pregnancy were investigated by univariate analysis and multi-variate Logistic regression analysis. Results The vaginal delivery rate and success rate of external breech conversion in the research group[57/69,82.61%;47/69,68.12%]were higher than those in the control group[2/93,2.15%;28/93,30.11%](P<0.01).During treatment, the incidence of placental abruption, umbilical cord around neck, cephalopelvic imbalance and perinatal hospitalization of neonates in the research group[1/69,1.45%;2/69,2.90%;1/69,1.45%;1/69,1.45%]was lower than that in the control group[9/93,9.68%;12/93,12.90%;10/93,10.75%;11/93,11.83%](P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that neonatal body weight and parity were independent influencing factors for the success of external breech conversion in full-term breech pregnancy(P<0.05,P<0.01).Con-clusion The use of external breech conversion in pregnancy women with full-term breech pregnancy can improve the rate of vaginal delivery and reduce the incidence of complications, and the neonatal body weight and parity are the main factors influ-encing the success of this technique.
