Abstract:Objective To analyze the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)in esophageal squa-mous cell carcinoma(ESCC)and its clinical significance. Methods A total of 76 patients with ESCC treated from January 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the research subjects, and the adjacent normal tissues of the same patient were taken as the control.EGFR was determined by immunohistochemical method, and the relationship between positive expression of EGFR in different tissues and pathological characteristics and prognosis of patients was analyzed. Results The positive rate of EGFR in ESCC was 72.4%(55/76),which was higher than that of adjacent normal tissue[27.6%(21/76)](P<0.05).Posi-tive expression of EGFR was different in ESCC patients with different invasion depth,TNM stage and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05,P<0.01).The overall survival and disease-free survival of patients with high EGFR expression were higher than those with low EGFR expression(P<0.05).Conclusion In ESCC,the positive rate of EGFR is high, and it is closely related to the depth of tumor invasion,TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, prognosis and survival.
