Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical value of 3D printing technique in the treatment of femoral intertrochanteric fracture with proximal femoral nail anti-rotation ( PFNA) . Methods A total of 51 patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture who were treated with PFNA were enrolled in this study. Of them, 26 cases whose preoperative communication and surgical planning was performed by routine preoperative imaging were recruited as normal group. By contrast, 25 cases whose preoperative communication and surgical planning was performed by 3D printing technique were recorded as 3D group. Preoperative communication scores, times of intraoperative fluorosco-py, intraoperative blood loss, duration of operation and postoperative Harris score in the two groups were recorded, respectively. Results All the operations were completed successfully. The preoperative communication score was higher in 3D group than in normal group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05). The times of intraopera-tive fluoroscopy, intraoperative blood loss, duration of operation was fewer or less in 3D group than in normal group, suggesting significant respectively ( P<0 .05 ) . There was no significant difference in postoperative Harris score be-tween the two groups ( P>0 .05 ) . Conclusion 3 D printing technology used in the treatment of femoral intertro-chanteric fracture with PFNA could be conducive to patient treatment compliance and optimization of surgical plan-ning, achieving satisfactory clinical effects.
