Abstract:Objective To investigate the ultrasound features of renal artery stenosis ( RAS) and to analyze causes of missed diagnosis. Methods A total of 100 patients with suspected RAS who were diagnosed and treated in our hospital from February 2012 to February 2017 were selected as subjects, and they were examined with color Doppler ultrasound. With the results of renal arteriography as the golden standard, the ultrasound findings of RAS were observed and compared to analyze the missed diagnosis. Results In this study, renal arteries of patients all o-riginated from the abdominal aorta. The openings were located at the top of the main renal arteries in 48 cases and below the renal arteries in 52 cases, including 21 cases with renal artery entering the kidney via the renal hilum as opposed to 79 cases entering the kidney via other routes. A total of 97 patients with RAS were accurately diagnosed by ultrasound, whereas there was missed diagnosis in three cases. The sensitivity and accuracy rate of color Doppler ultrasound in diagnosing RAS were 97. 00% (97/100) and 97. 00% (97/100), respectively. Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound provides relatively higher accuracy and safety in the diagnosis of RAS.
