Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect and safety of two different hernia repairs in the treatment of inguinal hernia. Methods Seventy-six patients with inguinal hernia admitted to our hospital from May 2012 to September 2016 were divided into control group (n =38)and observation group (n =38),according to the admission order.Patients in control group underwent hernia ring filling tension-free hernia repair, whereas those in observation group received the transabdominal preperitoneal laparoscopic inguinal hcrniorrhaphy. The surgical condition the incidence of complications, and recurrence were observed in both groups. Results As compared with control group, patients in the observation group had a significantly shorter time to get out of bed, shorter hospital stay,a decrease in analgesic drug use,and a lower incidence of visual analogue scores at 1 and 3 days after surgery (P <0.05).Conclusion With respect to the treatment of inguinal hernia, the transabdominal preperitoneal laparoscopic inguinal herniorrhaphy is superior to tension free hernia repair, with minimal postoperative complications and low recurrence rate.
