Abstract:Objective To observe clinical effect of uterine artery embolization ( UAE) combined with hysteroscopy in treatment of patients with cervical pregnancy. Methods A total of 36 patients with cervical pregnancy, who were treated with UAE and Methotrexate ( MTX) combined with hysteroscopy, were selected as observation group. In the same period, other 30 patients with cervical pregnancy, who were treated with MTX combined with ultrasonography, were randomly selected as con-trol group. Intraoperative volume of blood loss, return to normal time of human chorionic gonadotrophin ( HCG) , hysterectomy condition, hospital stay, return to normal time of menstruation and postoperatively pathological examination were observed and compared between the two groups. Results Values of intraoperative volume of blood loss, hospital stay and return to normal time of menstruation were significantly less than those in control group (P<0. 05). No patients with hysterectomy were ob-served in observation group, while in control group, 1 patient had uterine bleeding during uterine curettage, and emergency hysterectomy was performed immediately. In two groups, postoperatively pathological examination showed that placenta and cervical were contacted closely, and normal cervical glands were visible besides of the tissues in placenta junction; no preg-nancy product was detected in uterine curettage tissues, and the pregnancy tissues were under the cervix. Conclusion UAE and MTX combined with hysteroscopy may reduce intraoperative volume of blood loss, shorten hospital stay and return to nor-mal time of menstruation.
