Abstract:Objective To investigate effects and clinical significances of mental intervention on hepatocellular carci-noma ( HCC) patients with secondary operation. Methods HCC patients with operation during January 2012 and January 2017 were divided into 400 patients with primary operation ( primary operation group) and 38 patients with secondary ( second surgery group) . Directed mental intervention was given in two groups before and after the operation. Self-rating anxiety scale ( SAS) and self rating depression scale ( SDS) were used to evaluate the mental status during the operation, and SAS and SDS scores before and after operation were compared in two groups. Results Preoperative SAS and SDS scores in second operation group were (52. 79 ± 4. 55) and (47. 79 ± 4. 56) respectively, and the scores were significantly higher than (48. 29 ± 6. 43) and (43.29 ±6.43) in primary operation group (P=0.000, P=0.001). Anxiety and depression conditions were signifi-cantly improved after mental intervention in second operation (P=0. 002, P=0. 001). Conclusion Anxiety and depression conditions in HCC patients with secondary operation are significantly worse than those in patients with primary operation, and therefore peroperatively mental intervention is very important for patients to relieve worse psychological disorder and promote postoperative rehabilitation.
