Abstract:Objective To compare clinical effect between continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and intermittent hemodialysis (IHD) in treatment of patients with uremic encephalopathy (UE).Methods A total of 40 UE patients admitted during October 2013 and December 2015, who had met inclusion and exclusion criteria, were divided into CRRT group (n=20) and CRRT (n=20) group according to admission number.CRRT and IHD groups were given CRRT treatment and IHD therapy respectively.Levels of systolic blood pressure (SBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), serum creatinine (SCr) and blood urea (BUN) before and after treatment, and remission rate and remission time after treatment were compared in two groups. Results In IHD group, treatment for 1 h, 2 h and 3 h, and the 15th min after treatment, SBP and MAP levels were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment (P<0.05).In CRRT group, treatment for 1 h, 2 h and 3 h, and the 15th min after treatment, SBP and MAP levels were higher than those in IHD group, and the differences in SBP and MAP levels at the 15th min after treatment and MAP levels treatment for 1 h, 2 h and 3 h were statistically significant between two groups (P<0.05).In two groups, after treatment for 2 weeks, SCr and BUN levels were significantly decreased (P<0.05).After treatment, SCr and BUN levels in CRRT group were significantly lower than those in IHD group (P<0.05).Remission rate and remission time in CRRT group were significantly better than those in IHD group (P<0.05).Conclusion The CRRT can achieve better cleaning effect and higher remission rate in treatment of patients with uremic encephalopathy compared with those by IHD therapy, and it has the ability to relieve the disease in less time and make more stable patient''s blood pressure.
