Abstract:Objective To study clinical effect of internal and external approach of triceps brachii combined with open reduction and internal fixation in treatment of humeral intercondylar fracture. Methods A total of 108 patients with humeral intercondylar fracture admitted during January 2010 and May 2016 were divided into observation group (n=60) and control group (n=48) according to surgical methods.Observation group was treated with internal and external approach of triceps brachii combined with open reduction and internal fixation based on regular treatment, while control group was treated with olecranon process of ulna osteotomy combined with open reduction and internal fixation based on regular treatment.Operative process, incidence of postoperative complication, curative effect and elbow joint functional score of affected side were compared in two groups. Results Compared with those in control group, in observation group, values of operative time, intraoperative blood loss volume, hospitalization time and incidence rate complication were decreased;total efficiency rate (93.33%), affected elbow joint functional scores in postoperative 2 months and 4 months were increased, and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05).Conclusion Internal and external approach of triceps brachii combined with open reduction and internal fixation in treatment of humeral intercondylar fracture has lower incidence rate of postoperative complications, quicker recovery in early period and better clinical effect.
