Abstract:Objective To investigate effects of Prostaglandin combined with Erigeron Breviscapus on serum homocysteine level in treatment of diabetic patients with cerebral infarction and its effects on the disease. Methods A total of 45 diabetic patients with cerebral infarction (treatment group) admitted during September 2014 and September 2015 were treated with Prostaglandin combined with Erigeron Breviscapus for 2 weeks, and another 42 healthy person taking medical examination at the same period were chosen as control group.Serum homocysteine (Hcy) and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) level changes and incidence rate of hyperhomocysteinemia were compared in two groups, and curative effect and adverse drug reaction treated by Prostaglandin and Erigeron Breviscapus were observed too. Results Compared with those in control group, serum Hcy and FPG levels, and incidence rate of hyperhomocysteinemia were significantly increased before and after treatment in treatment group (P<0.05).Compared with those before treatment, serum Hcy level and incidence rate of hyperhomocysteinemia were significantly decreased (P<0.05),while FPG level showed no significant change after treatment in treatment group (P>0.05).The total effective rate of Prostaglandin and Erigeron Breviscapus was 93.3%,and no adverse drug reaction was found. Conclusion Serum Hcy levels of diabetic patients with cerebral infarction are significantly increased, and Prostaglandin and Erigeron Breviscapus can improve symptoms of patients by decreasing serum Hcy level without adverse drug reaction.
