Abstract:Objective To investigate imaging features of ureteral cavernous hemangioma so as to improve diagnostic rate of imaging. Methods Clinical data of one patient with ureteral cavernous hemangioma misdiagnosed as having ureteral carcinoma was retrospectively analyzed, and relevant literature was also reviewed. Results The patient was admitted for mac-roscopic hematuria associated by urgent micturition and odynuria for 2 weeks. Intravenous pyelography and enhanced CT showed similar imaging with ureteral malignant neoplasm, and the patient was misdiagnosed as having ureteral carcinoma, and the surgery was performed. Postoperatively pathological diagnosis was ureteral cavernous hemangioma combined with thrombo-sis, and the patient was discharged after recovery by symptomatic treatment and nutritional support, and no recurrence was found by follow-up after discharging for half a year. Conclusion Ureteral cavernous hemangioma is rare, and it is easy to be misdiagnosed as malignant tumor when it combines with thrombosis in similar imaging findings, and therefore clinicians should pay more attention.
