Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of nursing intervention of self-efficacy on quality of life of patients with moderate-severe cancer pain. Methods A total of 130 patients with moderate-severe cancer pain were divided into ob-servation group (n=65) and control group (n=65) according to random number table method. All patients were given con-ventional nursing, while observation group was given nursing intervention of self-efficacy on the basis of conventional nursing. Changes in self-efficacy and quality of life before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results After nursing intervention of self-efficacy, scores of three kinds of self-efficacy subscales including pain management, physical func-tioning and symptoms response in observation group were significantly increased compared with those in control group ( P<0. 05);in addition, the score of functional dimension was significantly higher than that in control group (P<0. 05), while scores of the dimensions of symptoms and other symptoms were significantly lower than those in control group ( P<0. 05 ) . Conclusion Nursing intervention of self-efficacy can enhance self-efficacy and significantly improve quality of life of patients with cancer pain.
