Abstract:Objective To investigate clinical value, causes of misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis and preventive measures of ultrasound and CT in diagnosis of patients with non-traumatic acute abdomen. Methods Ultrasound and CT data of 88 patients with confirmed non-traumatic acute abdomen was retrospectively analyzed. Results Diagnostic accuracy rates of ultrasound and CT in the 88 patients with non-traumatic acute abdomen were 84. 09% and 95. 45% respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05);There were no significant differences between ultrasound and CT in diagno-sis of causes of the disease such as urinary calculi, appendicitis, gallstone, cholecystitis and acute pancreatitis in the 88 pa-tients (P>0. 05). Type-B ultrasound examination showed that 10 patients were misdiagnosed, and 4 patients were missed di-agnosis, while CT examination showed that 3 patients were misdiagnosed, and 1 patient was missed diagnosis. After confirmed diagnosis, other patients received corresponding treatment, and the conditions were improved except for 1 patient left the hos-pital for the patient could not bear the surgery. Conclusion Both ultrasound and CT are important imaging examination meth-ods, and CT examination has high diagnostic accuracy rate. However, imaging methods has a certain limitations, and therefore clinicians should carefully observe conditions of patients, and carry out diagnosis combined with clinical manifestations in diag-nosis of patients with non-traumatic acute abdomen.
