Expression and Significance of GPC-3,β-catenin, GSK-3βin Prostate Cancer

Abstract：Objective To explore the expression and significance of Glypican-3 ( GPC-3 ) , β-catenin, GSK-3β in prostate cancer tissues. Methods The envision immunohistochemical method was used to detect the protein of GPC-3, β-catenin and GSK-3β, and the expression and significance of GPC-3,β-catenin, GSK-3βin 40 cases of prostate cancer (high risk group of 17 cases, lowrisk group of 23 cases) and 30 cases of benign prostate hyperplasia were retrospectively analyzed and compared. Results Positive expression rates of GPC-3, β-catenin and GSK-3β in prostate cancer tissues were 82. 5%(33/40), 90. 0% (36/40), 17. 5% (7/40), GPC-3,β-catenin and the positive rates of GSK-3βin benign prostatic hyper-plasia tissues were 13. 3% (4/30), 23. 3% (7/30), 43. 3% (13/30), there was statistical significance between the two groups ( P <0. 05 ) . As for GPC-3 and β-catenin expression, there was no statistical significance between the two groups (P>0.05);but as for GSK-3β, there was statistical significance between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion GPC-3,β-catenin have high expression in prostate cancer tissues, but in benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues have low expression, and these three kinds of proteins may have a promoting role in the occurrence process and development of prostate cancer.
