Abstract:Objective To compare diagnostic value of X-ray combined with ultrasound and CT examination in diagno-sis of solitary osteochondroma. Methods 124 cases of solitary osteochondroma patients during March 2010 and July 2014 were selected and preoperative X-ray combined with ultrasound and CT examination results were compared. Results The di-agnosis rate of X-ray combined ultrasound for solitary osteochondroma patients was 97. 58%, while the CT diagnosis rate was 100%, the diagnostic rate of the two methods had no statistical difference ( P<0. 05 ); for X-ray combined with ultrasound cartilage cap and surrounding soft tissue lesion, the diagnosis rates were 93. 48% and 100%, compared with the CT diagnosis results, there was no significant difference (P>0. 05);Preoperative X-ray combined with ultrasound and CT examination cost respectively (162.78 ± 32. 37) RMB and (282. 18 ± 44. 28) RMB and the difference was statistically significant (P <0. 05), for X-ray combined with ultrasound examination the cost is lower than that of CT examination. Conclusion X-ray combined with ultrasound examination in solitary osteochondroma diagnosis has similar diagnostic value with CT examination, but is more economical, and convenient.
