Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical characteristics of ovarian endometriosis cyst r-rupture, and the misdiag-nosis causes and preventive measures. Methods The clinical data of 23 patients with ovarian endometriosis cyst burst con-firmed by surgical pathology admitted to our department during October 2006 and October 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Results The patients of this group complained of a sudden abdominal pain and 21 patients with cystic masses were suggested by preoperative ultrasound in the attachment area. Preoperative diagnosis of ovarian endometriosis cyst rupture were in 11 ca-ses, and misdiagnosed in 12 cases (52. 17%). 4 cases were misdiagnosed as ovarian cysts, 3 cases were misdiagnosed as o-varian cyst torsion, 2 cases were misdiagnosed as acute appendicitis, 2 cases were misdiagnosed as corpus luteum rupture hemorrhage, 1 case was misdiagnosed as ectopic pregnancy. All the patients in this group underwent emergency surgical treat-ment, and intraoperative intraperitoneal was found with coffee-colored viscous liquid. 18 cases had line of ovarian endometrio-sis cyst removal and 5 cases underwent bilateral adnexectomy. Postoperative specimen underwent pathological examination, and was diagnosed as endometrial cyst. Danazol, Gestrinone and Triptorelin medications were given for 3~6 months. No re-lapse occurred during the postoperative follow-up of 1 year. Conclusion Misdiagnosis rate of ovarian endometriosis cyst burst is high. Enhanced knowledge of the disease, detailed history and careful analysis of the medical examination results can re-duce or prevent misdiagnosis of ovarian endometriosis cyst burst. Once the disease is comfirmed, surgical procedure should be applied as soon as possible.
