Abstract:Objective To study the effect of Gefitinib on concentration of 4 kinds of tumour markers in serum and clinical efficacy in patients with lung squamous cell cancer. Methods 84 people with lung squamous cell cancer in stage Ⅲand Ⅳ were randomly divided into observation group and control group(n = 42 each group). They were treated with conven-tional chemotherapy and the observation group was also given oral Gefitinib (250 mg/ d) on this basis. The concentration of tumour markers (CEA, CA125, NSE and SCC) in serum and recent efficacy were observed and compared between the two groups after treatment. Results After treatment, the concentration levels of CEA, CA125, NSE, SCC were lower than pre-treatment levels (P < 0. 05),and these indicators in the observation group were significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0. 05), after treatment, the clinical efficiency in the observation group was significantly higher than that of control group (P < 0. 05). After therapy, the patients of the two groups suffered nausea, nausea with vomiting and myelosuppression. There was no significant difference between the toxic reaction rates of the two groups (P > 0. 05). Conclusion Gefitinib can reduce the concentration level of tumour markers in serum and improve the recent clinical efficiency of patients with lung squa-mous cell cancer in stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ.
