Abstract:Objective To determine β2-MG evaluation values of renal function at the early phase of acute myocardial infarction. Methods 164 patients visiting the emergency department of our hospital during June 2013 and August 2014 were enrolled. The patients were diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction and underwent PCI therapy. Patients aged from 60 to 75 year-old were divided into the normal group (n = 90) and β2-MG increased group (n = 74)according to their β2-MG levels. Heart function, Killip levels, coronary lesion, LVEF after PCI, contrast-induced nephropathy rate and complications were compared. Results Compared with the normal group, the β2-MG increased group had a significantly higher serum creatinine level(P < 0. 01)but both being within the reference ranges. The β2-MG increased group had a significantly higher killip levels (Killip levels≥3) and coronary lesion(≥2 coronary lesion ) and more stent implantation patients(≥1 stent implantation) (P < 0. 05, P < 0. 01). The normal group had a significantly higher rate of LVEF(P < 0. 01). The β2-MG increased group had a significantly higher rate of contrast-induced nephropathy rate(P < 0. 05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in the rates of complications and pill dosage 48 hours after PCI(P > 0. 05). Conclusion The serum beta-2 mi-croglobulin is an early marker of renal dysfunction and shows some clinical predictive value of the contrast-induced nephropa-thy rate of acute myocardial infarction at the early phase.
