Application of Breast Visualized Palpation Imaging System in Breast Cancer Screening

Abstract：Objective To investigate the value of visualized palpation breast imaging system ( SureTouch) in breast cancer screening. Methods A total of 110 patients with breast masses were found in health examination in our hospital from December 2012 to December 2013, and all the patients were confirmed by SureTouch, B-ultrasound and X-ray mammography. The imaging data was retrospectively analyzed and the ROC curve was made to compare the diagnostic efficacy of the three methods. Results The results were confirmed by pathology. There were 63 cases of breast cancer and 47 cases of benign tumors. The areas under the ROC curve of SureTouch, B-ultrasound and X-ray mammography were 0. 887, 0. 863 and 0. 821, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of SureTouch examination were 0. 873, 0. 766, and 0. 827, respective-ly. The sensitivity of SureTouch was significantly higher than that of X-ray mammography (χ2 =2. 478, P=0. 008), but the difference was not significant when compared to B-ultrasound examination (χ2 =4. 721, P=0. 051);The specificity of Sure-Touch was lower than that of B-ultrasound examination (χ2 =3. 027, P=0. 046), but no statistical significance was found when compared to X-ray mammography (χ2 =4. 970, P=0. 056); The accuracy of SureTouch was significantly higher than that of X-ray mammography (χ2 =3. 487, P=0. 026), but no significant difference was found when compared to that of B-ul-trasound examination (χ2 =4. 986, P=0. 063). The sensitivity of SureTouch combined with B-ultrasound or X-ray mammog-raphy in diagnosis of breast cancer was significantly higher than that of any single test method. Conclusion SureTouch is ex-pected to become an important mean of auxiliary examination of breast diseases. Combined application of SureTouch, B-ultra-sound and X-ray mammography can further improve the sensitivity in the diagnosis of early breast cancer.
