Abstract:Objective To evaluate the cell cycle of laryngeal cancer cells after the intervention of combined sodium glycididazole and radiation. Methods Laryngeal cancer Hep-2 cells were divided into five groups:the control group with no treatment, the irradiation group (6MV-X radiation, 300 cGy/min, 5 Gy), the sodium glycididazole group ( treated with 100 μl of sodium glycididazole at the concentration of 0. 8 mmol/L, 4 h), and the sodium glycididazole plus irradiation group (treated with the same above) and the KU55933 plus sodium glycididazole (0. 08 mmol/L, 4 h) and irradiation (5 Gy) group. The cell cycle and Bax protein expression of laryngeal cancer cells were detected by FCM and Western blotting, respec-tively. Results In sodium glycididazole plus irradiation group, the cell proportion of G0/G1 phase was declined significantly and the Bax protein expression of laryngeal cancer cells increased, and the differences were significant when compared to other groups (P<0. 05). Conclusion Sodium glycididazole enhances radiosensitivity of laryngeal cancer cells through regulating the cell cycle.
