Abstract:Objective To comprehensively evaluate the effect of traditional Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine in treatment of acute myocardial infarction ( AMI) . Methods Relevant literature of traditional Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine in treatment of AMI published between January 1999 and January 2014 was retrieved from databases of CNKI, VIP, Wanfang, Pubmed and EMbase, and system assessment and meta-analysis were performed. Results A total of 15 RCTs ( randomized controlled trials) including 998 AMI patients were recruited in this study, The meta-analy-sis result showed that the clinical effect (combined RR=1. 11, 95% CI:1. 01-1. 21, P=0.03) and revascularization rate (combined RR=1.11, 95% CI:1. 01-1. 21, P=0. 03) by traditional Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine in treatment of AMI was significantly better than those by western medicine;values of cardiac output, ventriculus sinister of e-jection fraction and creatine kinase isoenzyme by traditional Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine was signifi-cantly better than those by Western medicine (P<0. 01), and the incidence rate of complications was significantly lower than that by Western medicine treatment group (combined RR=0. 66, 95% CI:0. 47-0. 93, P<0. 001). Conclusion Tradi-tional Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine in treatment of acute myocardial infarction has better curative effect and lower incidence rate of complications, compared with those by only Western medicine treatment.
