Abstract:Objective To explore predictive values of ratios of TC/HDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C and TG/HDL-C of pa-tients with coronary heart disease ( CHD) for condition severity. Methods A total of 175 CHD patients undergoing coronary artery stent placement were recruited as CHD group, and 146 heatlhy persons taking physical examination without cardiovascu-lar disease were chosen as control group. Seven parts of blood lipids indexes [ total cholesterol ( TC) , triglyceride ( TG) , low density lipoprotein cholesterol ( LDL-C) , high density lipoprotein cholesferol ( HDL-C) , ratios of TC/HDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C and TG/HDL-C] were detected in the two groups. The differences of the indexes in the two groups and value changes of blood lipids in different lesions (3 lesions, 2 lesions and 1 lesion) were analyzed, and the correlations between the indexes and changes in different lesions were also analyzed. Results The seven indexes in CHD group were significantly higher than those in control group ( P<0.01 ); ratios of TC/HDL-C and TG/HDL-C in patients with 3 lesions were significantly higher than those in patients with 2 lesions or 1 lesion (P<0.05);ratios of TC/HDL-C and LDL-C/HDL-C in patients with 3 or 2 lesions were significantly higher than those in patients with 1 lesion ( P<0.05 ); HDL-C ratio in patients with 3 lesions was significantly lower than that in patients with 1 lesion (P<0.05). Conclusion The blood lipids ratios are closely related to lesion numbers in patients with coronary heart disease. So it can be used as routine index in prediction of CHD conditions.
