Effect Observation of Er:YAG Laser Therapy in Relieving Dry Socket Pain

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of Err:YAG laser therapy in relieving dry socket pain. Methods A to-tal of 58 patients with dry socket were randomly divided into treatment group(n=26)and control group(n=26). The treat-ment group underwent removal of necrotizing bone tissue by Er:YAG laser therapy,while the control group was repeatly scrubed in tooth socket with 3% hydrogen peroxide tampons,and later tamping iodoform gauzes were washed with 0. 9% sodi-um chloride injection. The pain scores of patients were recorded at 1st,3rd and 7th d of initial treatment,and 7th d odynolysis effects in the two groups were compared. Results In treatment group,the pain scores at 1 st ,3 rd and 7 th d of initial treatment were significantly lower,and 7 th d total effective rates of odynolysis were significantly higher than those in control group( P﹤0. 01). Conclusion The effect of Er:YAG laser therapy is significantly better compared with that by tamping iodoform gauze.
