Abstract:In this study,high-purity graphite flakes were utilized as the working electrode in a mixed elec-trolyte of dilute sulfuric acid and ammonium iodide.A one-step electrochemical exfoliation method was employed to simultaneously achieve graphene exfoliation and iodine doping.Experimental results show that iodine doping inhibits the stacking of graphene sheets and increases edge defects, thereby improving the specific capacitance and cycling stability of the material. The fabricated electrode delivers a specific ca-pacitance of 82.1 F/g at 1 A/g and retains 90.7%of its initial capacitance after 10 000 cycles at 5 A/g.A symmetric supercapacitor constructed with this material exhibits an energy density of 3.48 W·h/kg at a power density of 300 W/kg,along with 91.3%capacitance retention after 5 000 cycles. This in-situ elec-trochemical doping strategy simplifies conventional complex doping processes, eliminating the need for high-temperature processing or post-treatment steps.Besides, iodine doping effectively enhances the structural stability and electrochemical performance of graphene materials. This work provides a possibili-ty for advancing electrode materials in supercapacitor applications.
