Abstract:The application of two-dimensional(2D)materials as saturable absorbers(SA)in fiber lasers has attracted great interest.Transition metal disulfide compounds(TMDs),as a class of 2D materials, have been widely used in ultrafast fiber lasers due to their better optoelectronic properties and environmental stability.Rhenium diselenide(ReSe2),as one of the TMDs is predicted to have good nonlinear optical effects by a series of characterization techniques. In this experiment, the prepared ReSe2 solution was dried and made into a 1 mm×1 mm film affixed to the end face of the fiber optic patch cord head to form a SA.The modulation depth and saturable absorption intensity of the diaphragm were 8.8%and 4.9 MW/cm2.The saturable absorber was integrated into the fiber cavity and stable conventional solitons were obtained at a dispersion of-0.682 ps2 and a pump power of 143.6 mW.After slightly adjusting the polarization state and pump power, the conventional soliton transformed into a 38th-order stable harmonic mode-locked operation. The experimental results show that ReSe2 has good pulse modulation capability and has certain applications in Erbium-doped fiber lasers.
