Effects of Ammonium Sulfate on the Growth and Morphologies of Zinc Oxide
Abstract:Zinc oxide (ZnO) was synthesized via a microwave-assistant precipitation method using Zn(NO3)2, C6H12 O6, NH3 . H2O and (NH4)2SO4 as raw materials. The effects of C6H12 O6 and (NH4)2SO4 on the growth and morphologies of ZnO were studied. The phase structure and morphologies of the as-synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The results show that after the addition of C6 H12O6, the morphologies of ZnO changed from urchin-like to ball-like. With the increasing concentration of (NH4)2 SO4, morphologies of ZnO exhibit a change of ball-like→flower-like→column.
