Preparation and Characterization of Oxidized Graphene/PMMA Hybrid Materials
Abstract:Oxidized graphene was obtained via modified Hummers′s method with graphite as raw material. Then the carboxyl of oxidized graphene reacted with glycol and 4,4′-azobis(4-cyanopentanoic acid chloride) successively and resulted in oxidized graphene supported 4,4′-azobis(4-cyanopentanoic acid). The oxidized graphene-g-poly(methyl methacrylate)(oxidized graphene-g-PMMA) hybrid material was successfuly prepared using oxidized graphene supported 4,4′-azobis(4-cyanopentanoic acid) as initiator and methyl methacrylate as the monomer. The structure and the configuration of the samples were characterized by fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and atomic force microscopy(AFM) respectively. The electrical properties depended on frequency was also researched. The results show that the PMMA had grafted from the oxidized graphene surface, the electrical conductivity and the dielectric constant of oxidized graphene-g-PMMA hybrid material decreased 0.098 S·cm-1 and 34 000 respectively compared with oxidized graphene.
