Determination of Micellar Aggregation of Long-chain Imidazolium Ionic Liquids
Abstract:Aggregation numbers of micelle (Nagg) of long-chain ionic liquids were determined by steady-state fluorescence method in which pyrene was used as fluorescence probe and benzophenone as quencher. The solution of long-chain ionic liquids was prepared with a saturated aqueous solution of pyrene. And the results indicated that Nagg increases linearly with the increase of concentration and decreases lightly with the increment of the increment of temperature. Moreover, the critical micellar aggregation number was obtained from Nagg-C experimental curves.
