Abstract：A novel Pd( Ⅱ )-dibenzo-24-crown-8(DB24C8)complex [K2(DB24C8)2(H2O)2]consists of a [K2 (DB24C8) 2 (H2O) 2]2+ complex cation and a [Pd (SCN) 4]2-anion. Complex cation [K2 (DB24C8)2 (H2O)2]2+ is a dimer of two [K2 (DB24C8)2 (H2O)2]+groups bridged by two oxygen atoms of two H2O molecules and K(1)-O(1)-O(2)-K(2) is coplanar. This is a new mode of bonding of metal ion with crown ether.
