Abstract:It is known that interference between multiple Laudau-Zerner (LZ) transitions can produce periodic Rabi oscillations. One of the main requirements for the observation of such Rabi oscillations is that the coherence time of the quantum system must be long enough to allow the coherent interference between a long sequence of LZ processes. Rabi oscillations can all be observed by simulations with triangle, sine and square control fields applied in a nitrogen-vacancy (NV) Center spin in isotopically purified diamond. The results demonstrate its good quantum controllability, and thus NV centers can have potential applications in quantum metrology and quantum information processing. It is found that the Rabi oscillations are different in the diabatic and adiabatic bases with the above three kinds of control fields. Proper basis is useful to study the Rabi oscillations.
