Abstract:To counter the problems of large gas outflow in the working face and high gas concentration at the upper corner angle, study was carried out on the gas drainage effect under the conditions of different height of the high-location drainage roadway to the seam roof and different horizontal distance to the air-return way based on the analysis of the movement law of the overburden rock strata and gas migration regularity in the gob and through theoretical computation, numerical simulation and site application. The results showed that the reasonable layout of the high-location drainage roadway was 20 m height to the seam roof and 14 m horizontal distance to the air-return way; in the process of field application, the gas drainage rate was above 38. 1%, the highest gas drainage concentration was 40. 6%, with an average concentration of 35. 0%. The research results are stable and reliable, can effectively solve the gas overrun problems in the working face and at the upper corner angle and can also provide a reference for the similar engineering problems.
